Everlast Punching Bag

The Everlast Company has become synonymous with boxing, and many other sports worldwide. Very few people know that Everlast did not start as a company with boxing in mind, but it started as a swim wear company. From swim wear to one of the best and most well-known and prestigious names in quality punching bags and related boxing gear.

This sports superstar story begins in the Bronx in 1910. Jack Golomb, at the age of seventeen was dissatisfied with his father’s line of swim wear that sported designs which never lasted longer than a single season. Jack began making swim wear with a promised guarantee to last for an entire year, and thus was born the now famous and appropriate name of “EVERLAST”. Over the years Jack Golomb expanded his vision, and turned the fledgling company into a small retail store that sold an entire line of sporting goods including punching bags.

In 1917 the Everlast Company became a big name in boxing when, the now boxing legend, Jack Dempsey brought the sport of boxing to Golomb. Dempsey challenged Golomb to develop a line of headgear that would last more than fifteen rounds in the ring. And to solidify the quality of their product and put it on the map, Jack Dempsey won the world heavyweight title in 1919 wearing Everlast gear. This was the deciding factor that caused Everlast to become the official name for boxing world wide.

The Everlast name is known for its quality, durability and excellence in construction throughout all of its product line. The Everlast line of punching bags includes to name a few, the speed bags, heavy weight bags, reflex bags and uppercut bags all of which will prove to be valuable additions to your workout center. With this series of high performance bags you can create a circuit training routine to perfect your target moves.

After a run of almost a century, in 2000, Active Apparel Group (AAGP) attained the “EVERLAST” brand and in late 2007 Everlast Worldwide Inc.was acquired by Brands Holding. The “EVERLAST” brand can now be found in over 101 countries and has 88 licenses all over the world. Even though the original company has changed hands, the quality and dependability of the Everlast brand will live on as implied by the name given almost 100 years ago when a young man had a vision.
